‘TB Joshua tricked me, I was forced to confess on Live TV’ – Snake pastor reveals

Recall, Penuel Mnguni, the very controversial South African pastor who asked his congregation to swallow live snakes and who made rounds online 4 days ago after he came to Prophet T.B Joshua to deliver him, well he just got back in SA, and says he’s happy to talk about his visit to TB Joshua.

I am being used by God and God sees no sin in what I do, he said. TB Joshua tricked me, but I am still the snake pastor!

The Snake Pastor visited the church over the weekend and is seen in a video shown on Emmanuel TV, saying: “Pastor TB Joshua and I came to realise that what I was doing was not scriptural.”

But the Snake Pastor made a U-turn after he landed in Mzansi yesterday morning, saying he was forced to say what he said because he feared for his safety in Nigeria.

“I never knew that I was going to be forced to speak in front of people,” he said.

The pastor from End Times Ministries in Soshanguve said during his visit his belongings were taken away from him.

“Those people took my ID and passport and would not give them back until I did what they wanted me to do. I went there on an invite and I only wanted to take part in worshipping, not deliverance,” he said.

He said they had pictures showing some of his past practices at church and he had to stand in front of them.

“It was as if everything was planned before I even got there. If you listen to the video I am not the one saying those words. There is a woman next to me who is forcefully telling me what to say.”

He said he felt as if his rights were being violated. “But I stood there hopelessly because I feared a lot of things.”

The Snake Pastor made headlines in the past after he was seen feeding snakes to members of his congregation as a demonstration of the power of God.

Other things that he did included feeding a member a live rat, locking a church member in a deep freeze for more than 30 minutes and driving a car over congregants.

His practices outraged human and animal rights organisations and he was arrested for his antics.

However Kirsten Nematandani from the TB Joshua Ministries told another story.

“He just wants to continue to be controversial. You must understand going to Nigeria is not a quick decision. He had to get a visa, get on a plane and get accommodation. He was never forced to do anything,” he said.

“The pictures at the church? Who brought them? He brought them himself because he wanted to. He is an adult and he can’t be forced to do anything. The problem is he just likes to cause a scene.”

Man Loses Wife To A Football Bet

A 26-year-old Zimbabwean, Charles Jambaya has lost his wife to another man after wagering her in a football bet.

He had pledged his 22-year-old wife Caroline Shumba to another man over the UEFA Champions League final between Real Madrid and Juventus.

Jambaya made a verbal agreement with 30-year-old Eugene Gumbo that if Juventus lose the encounter he would give him his wife, while Gumbo wagered $500 in favour of a Madrid victory.

Hell broke loose when Real Madrid defeated Juventus 4-1 and Eugene requested for his prize (Jambaya’s wife).

The wife, who had no inkling she had been used as a wager in a bet, was stunned when Eugene told her that she had to go with him because he had won her as a prize in a football bet.

She, however, refused to go with Eugene, seeking refuge with her aunt, who took the case to a traditional court.

Jambaya told Chiefs at the Traditional Court he was not in a right state of mind when he made the pledge and he pleaded for mercy.

Both men were fined an animal each.

We are all brothers and sisters born from the womb of mother Nigeria- Former President Goodluck Jonathan

 - Goodluck Jonathan has reacted to the threat issued to the Igbos in the North.

-The former president stated that Nigerians have the right to live in any part of the country

- The Coalition of Northern Youths had issued a statement ordering Igbo people in the north to leave

Nigeria's former president, Goodluck Jonathan has weighed in on the ethnic tension following an ultimatum issued to the Igbos in the north to leave the region by a Northern youth forum.

Jonathan took to his Facebook page on Thursday, June 8, to share a powerful message to Nigerians.

In his message the former president stated that Nigerians have the right to live in any part of the country.

Read his message below:

"Every Nigerian citizen has an inalienable right to reside in any part of Nigeria. As Nigerians, we should all tailor our thoughts, actions and utterances to promote this and other rights.

We are all brothers and sisters born from the womb of mother Nigeria. There are no still births or unwanted births from our mother.

We are all one and equal and it is the responsibility of all men of goodwill to appeal for calm and unity in our beloved country Nigerians."

The group named Coalition of Northern Youths (CNY) on Tuesday, June 6, issued a statement orderingIgbo people in the north to vacate Northern Nigeria within 3 months.

It was learnt that the group also urged northern people in the south-eastern part of the country to immediately start moving back to their various states.

The group threatened that from the 1st October, 2017, it will begin to prove to the whole world the north was no longer part of any federal union that should do with the Igbos.

Akwa Ibom state government gives traders 31 days ultimatum to reduce prices of foodstuff

The Akwa Ibom State government has issued an order to all the traders in the state to immediately reduce the cost of foodstuff in the market within 31 days. The order was issued to the traders in a letter released by the Special Assistant to the state governor Udom Emmanuel on Traders’ Matters, Idoronyin Rapheal.

The state government threatened to dissolve the leadership of any union that does not comply with the order within 31 days. In a radio programme recently, Idorenyin accused the traders of taking advantage of the scarcity of FOREX to inflate foodstuff prices.

He also alleged that the market union leaders were to some extent responsible for the hike in food prices.

“Garri is selling between N30,000 and N22,000 per bag in the state, but if you go outside Akwa Ibom garri it is sold between N18, 000 and N17, 000…. The union doesn’t allow people who are not their members to sell garri in bags in the market. If you are not their member and you bring in bags of garri into the market, they will seize them from you. If you look at it, there are no Customs duties on garri, and garri is not purchased with dollars, so it is the union that is causing the price increase. We will not continue to fold our hands and watch them do this. The unions must give traders the free hand to sell their goods. Another example is the crayfish. If you travel to Aba in Abia State, you’ll discover that the crayfish there are cheaper there than in Akwa Ibom, and the traders from Aba are buying from here. It is because of the union"he said

Democrats Say They Will Impeach Trump Over Claims He Obstructed Justice

Democrats have said they will try to impeach Donald Trump over claims he obstructed justice, saying "no president is above the law".

The party claims President Trump obstructed an FBI investigation into Russian interference during the US election and says they will now file official articles of impeachment against him.

The announcement comes as former FBI Director James Comey is scheduled to testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee.

He is expected to be asked whether Trump pushed him to end a probe into a former national security adviser's contacts with Russia. Rumblings of a possible impeachment process began several weeks ago but it has taken officials until now to announce they will begin the formal process of filing the necessary articles to begin the proceedings.

Announcing their intention to start the impeachment process, Democrat representative Al Green said: "The question really is not whether the president has obstructed justice.

"The question really is whether the president can obstruct justice with impunity. The question is whether the House of Representatives will allow an obstruction of justice with impunity.

"The president like all others, is not above the law. I have engaged in the process of drafting articles of impeachment my articles of impeachment are being reviewed and at some point if no one else does, I will file articles of impeachment to impeach President Donald J Trump.

Democrat representative Brad Sherman added: "This is a difficult time for our country. We need governance that is competent and that respects the rule of law.

Arewa Youth Forum Insists Igbos Must Leave – El-Rufai is Talking Because He Wants To Be President

The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, one of the Northern Youth groups that issued a quit notice to Igbos have expressed disappointment over Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai’s call for their arrest.

Premium Times reports that in spite of the state government’s order, the group called for another meeting. Abdulaziz Suleiman who is the coordinator of the group described the reaction of El-Rufai as disappointing.

He said: “We are currently meeting to decide on how best to react. Personally, I am disappointed with some of our leaders. These types of threats were issued against the Fulani recently and no governor from the South came out to condemn it.”

Speaking again after the meeting, he said, “Our declaration did not mention violence at all. The Igbo have consistently insisted that they don’t want to be in Nigeria, let them therefore, go back to their places

“They don’t believe in Nigeria, so, we also don’t believe in them.”

“Where was El Rufai when the Igbos gave the Fulani ultimatum to leave their areas?

“Where was he when over 500 northerners were killed in Ile Ife? These people just politicise everything. Because he wants to run for President, he chose to ignore his people and appease the Igbo? Goodluck to him.”

Sokoto Announces Free Education For Children Of Beggars, Vulnerable

Sokoto State Government has announced free education for children of beggars, vulnerable and other less-privileged members of the society.

Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto made the announcement on Wednesday at a special breakfast (iftar) session organised for hundreds of them by the state government.

Tambuwal said that a pilot scheme started in 2016 in three local government areas in the state, and a decision has now been reached to expand the scheme to all parts of the state.

“During the campaign, I made a promise to introduce special welfare packages to improve your well-being.

”I am happy to note that we have not only continued with it, we have also enhanced it.

“Our aim is to empower you all to ensure you have something you can do to permanently support yourselves and your families.

The governor further urged them to support the government to create a better environment and future for children in the state.

While reiterating the determination of his administration to improve the welfare of all citizens, Tambuwal urged them to ensure that all their children were immunised against childhood killer diseases.

“Don’t hide your children at home if they fell ill. Bring them to the nearest health facility for assessment and treatment,” he said.

Various speakers at the gathering commended the state government and Tambuwal for the gesture.

They prayed for the safe return of President Muhammadu Buhari from his medical vacation.

Senate Uncovers How National Hajj Commission ‘Extorts Pilgrims’

Nigerians that go to Saudi Arabia for pilgrimage are often extorted, with most of them paying over 1.5 million, the Senate says, as it indicts the National Hajj Commission.

Hajj pilgrims in Nigeria are extorted annually.

How will persons that are going to pray be extorted, you will ask, but the Senate is making this shocking revelation.

This extortion is not by private individuals but by government establishment.

During Tuesday’s plenary, the attention of lawmakers was drawn to the activities of the National Hajj Commission by Senator Ibrahim Danbaba.

He claimed that the National Hajj Commission extorts about 1,555,000 Naira per Pilgrim is extortion.

Explaining how this extortion happen, he told the Senate that there were unnecessary charges that were in contradiction to the normal levy.

Another Senator that contributed to the motion, Senator Jibrin Barau, said many of the commission’s officials connive with people in Saudi Arabia in charge of accommodation to further make money off the pilgrims.

After deliberations on the matter, the Senate asked the National Hajj Commission to review the 2017 fare.

It also asked the Committee on Foreign Affairs to investigate the circumstances surrounding the issue of the National Hajj Commission.

See The Disgusting Whatsapp Messages a Married Father Sent to a 13 year Old Girl

Anthony Morgan, a 51-year-old married father was caught trying to groom a child by vigilante paedophile hunters.

According to Metro UK, Anthony Morgan believed he had been chatting to a 13-year-old schoolgirl online but was actually duped by Dark Justice – a group that trawls the web to expose people looking for vulnerable children.

When confronted, Morgan told paedophile hunters, ‘I am talking to my wife if you don’t mind’ after turning up under the impression he was meeting a child for an illegal sexual encounter.

The man arranged to meet the ‘teen’ but was instead greeted by members of the group. When confronted he denied he had done anything wrong, telling them he was speaking to his wife on the phone.

Morgan, of Shiremoor, North Tyneside, had engaged in graphic sexual chat over Whatsapp and asked to exchange illicit pictures with the account he believed to be a child.

When a meeting was arranged he said ‘it would be a waste of time going to meet her if there wasn’t going to be something on offer’.

Morgan told the fake 13-year-old’s profile that she was ‘too shy’.

In a bid to cover his tracks, Morgan asked for his number to be deleted from the girl’s phone before they met and said people might call him a ‘paedo’.

When he turned up at Newcastle city centre to meet his victim in August 2015, with a condom in his wallet, he was confronted by Dark Justice and then arrested by the police.

Prosecutor David Lamb said: ‘Their conversations were examined. The Crown say there is a clear pattern of sexual grooming in conversations between the two of them.

‘Following his arrest, he was searched and, while in police custody, a condom was removed by the police from his wallet.’

Morgan pleaded guilty to attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming at Newcastle Crown Court.

Judge Amanda Rippon jailed him for 21 months and said he must sign the s*x offenders register for ten years.

Morgan was ordered to abide by the terms of a sexual harm prevention order for the rest of his life.

The judge told him: ‘Although this is an attempt because the girl was not real, you actually travelled to meet her and if she had been real I have no doubt, having read every single word of the chat logs, you would have committed a sexual offence against her.

‘You made it plain it would have been a waste of your time unless something sexual was forthcoming.’

Jonathan Devlin, defending, said Morgan has family commitments which include him being carer for his adult son. He has no previous history of sexual offending.

Below are some of the messages he sent to the girl:

Northern Governors Condemn Youth Groups For Threatening Igbos

The Northern Governors’ Forum has condemned statements credited to a group of northern youths asking Igbos to vacate the north in the next three months.

Chairman of the Forum and Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima, described the comments as unfortunate and irresponsible.

“On behalf of the governor of the 19 northern states, we totally condemn such irresponsible pronouncements by those groups and we condemn, we disown and we are totally distancing ourselves from the pronouncements of those faceless groups who do not have the mandate of the people of northern Nigeria to make such loud pronouncements,” Shettima stated.

He pointed out that the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Section 41 subsection 1 was very explicit on allowing Nigerians to reside in any part of the country without any hindrance whatsoever.

“But when you see a toad dancing in the broad daylight, the drummer is not far from the main road. So I wish to call on the security agencies to beam their lenses on these groups and unearth the faces behind the mask,” the governor added.

The northern governors insisted that they do not recognise the group which they described as “a bunch of groups that do not have the mandate of the people coming out to stick up the embers of division and disunity”.

“The governors of northern Nigeria are not in alignment with those people and we will take whatever measures are necessary to safeguard the lives and properties of Nigerian citizens living in any part of the north.

“I am in contact with most of my colleagues and they are all talking to security establishments in their respective doornails because we cannot afford to take chances.

“Among them, there is no even an elected councillor; they are nonentities gasping for breath for relevance for whatever reason but we can’t afford to toy with the destiny of this country.

“I wish to call on our brothers of Igbo descent to remain calm and go about pursuing their legitimate businesses. Nobody can dare to intimidate them, harass or dehumanise them,” Shettima told journalists on Wednesday.

EFCC traces multi-billion Abuja asset to Patience Jonathan

Another multi-billion naira property has been traced to a former First Lady, Mrs. Patience Jonathan.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is to mark the property as “being under investigation” and may place it under Interim Asset Forfeiture.
The Nation reports that, three accounts and three more properties have been put under surveillance by the anti-graft commission in connection with the ongoing investigation of the ex-First Lady.

The three accounts belong to Aribawa Aruera Research Foundation; Finchley Top Homes Limited and AM-PM Network Limited.

A report indicated that Aruera Foundation is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) with RC No 22805.

It said:

“Huge funds were suspected to have been laundered into the accounts of the above mentioned companies and properties worth billions of naira were allegedly acquired by ex-First Lady Patience Jonathan through the aforementioned companies.
“Detectives were able to track transactions through open source information from interbank settlement
“The ex-First Lady and five others are trustees of Aribawa Foundation. Intelligence from Abuja Geographical Information Service (AGIS) revealed that a multi-billion naira property, Plot No. 1758B06 in Mabushi Area, belongs to the foundation.
“The said property is not such that a state Permanent Secretary in person of Mrs. Patience Jonathan can afford.
“The property should be marked as under investigation and interim forfeiture order be secured.""

Another source told The Nation:

“We have conducted searches at the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) on the two companies whose accounts were earlier frozen alongside that of the ex-First Lady over $5.8 million which was reasonably suspected to be proceeds of crime.
“They were among the five companies and one Esther Oba said to be having a total sum of N7.4 billion in six banks.
“But their counsel Ifedayo Adedipe (SAN) succeeded in unfreezing the account on April 6 at the Federal High Court presided over by Justice Mojisola Olatoregun.
“This is a new investigation. It is too early to return any verdict on the two companies because our detectives are looking into their books.”

The latest probe of Mrs. Jonathan has raised the number of properties linked to her to 17.About 13 properties were initially associated with the ex-First Lady in Port Harcourt and Yenagoa.

The assets in Port Harcourt  are former Customs Service Officers Mess; two duplexes at 2/3 Bauchi Street; landed property with blocks at Ambowei Street; three luxury apartments of four-bedroom each at Ambowei Street;  and Grand View Hotel on Airport Road.
